Golf Try Out Day for Golfers with a Disability

Earlier this month, Headfort Golf Club proudly hosted our first Golf Try Out Day for Golfers with a disability. The weather duly obliged with a warm and sunny day and ten disabled golfers from Prosper Meath, along with their carers, used our practice areas to hone their chipping and putting skills under the expert guidance of Club Professionals, Darren and Pat.

The golf was followed by a light lunch in the restaurant, and the feedback from Prosper Meath is that everyone really enjoyed the experience. All the disabled golfers will be presented with a certificate to mark their participation.

Some great potential was shown by this group of golfers, and it is hoped to welcome them back again in the not too distant future.

A word of thanks to Club Chairperson, Jacquie McCormack and Women’s Captain, Patricia O’Doherty for their support on the day.

Also, thank you to Brendan, Darren and Pat in the Pro Shop for the professional manner in which they set up and delivered the training and coaching to these disabled golfers.

And finally, thank you to Golf Ireland and Meath Local Sports Partnership for their collaboration and assistance in arranging this event.
